Matthias Lallise
Matthias is a PhD graduate of the Cognitive Science department at Johns Hopkins University. His PhD work focuses on the point of contact between computational linguistics and semantic theory: trying to understand the representation of semantic structures using formally explicit models, especially neural models. His primary interest is in understanding how human linguistic representations can (and do) arise out of the actions and interactions of simple computational units, yielding a system that, to a first approximation, has many of the characteristics of a classical computer.
